Portuguese winger Luis Nani will most likely stay at Italian team Venezia this season which means he would be playing in the second division when the new season starts. The former Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon star has never played in the second division throughout his professional career. Luis Nani signed for Venezia while they were in the Italian Serie A during the latest league season. However, he was unable to save them for relegation to the Italian Serie B, which is the second division in Italian club football.Venezia propped up the table at the end of the just finished Italian Serie A campaign.

Luis Nani said he signed for Venezia as a result of their ambitions. He made this known in his first interview as a Venezia player. The 35-year-old Portuguese international put pen to paper on an 18-month deal with Venezia until the end of the new season. With this in mind, he has a year left on his contract with the Italian club and he could spend it in the Italian Serie B unless he’s released from the contract or he signs for another team. Venezia made a big transfer coup with the signing of Luis Nani during the January transfer window. He was signed on a free transfer after his exit from Orlando City in the MLS (Major League Soccer).He left Orlando City at the end of his contract at the MLS club. The former Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United and Lazio winger has an attacking return of one assist in his eight league matches for Venezia.

Luis Nani made his eighth appearance of the season whenVenezia played hosts to Sampdoria over the weekend. In the end, Sampdoria proved to be too much for Venezia with Francesco Caputo scoring twice in the first half on the way to a 2-0 away win. Luis Nani was unable to stop the defeat as Caputo wrecked havoc on the Veneziadefence to take his tally to nine goals and three assists in 28 Italian Serie A appearances this season. Newly promoted Serie A side Venezia made a big coup with the free transfer signing of Luis Nani. The ex-Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United and Valencia star teamed up with Venezia as a free agent after leaving Major League Soccer (MLS) team Orlando City at the end of last year.

Luis Nani made his debut for lowlyVenezia during the league game at home to Empoli. The winger started the game on the bench before he was introduced into it in the place of veteran Italian defender Cristian Molinaro in the 72nd minute and his impact was an instant one as he was able to provide an assist on the occasion of his first Venezia game.

Cristiano Ronaldo stunned the footballing world when he returned to Manchester United in the summer after the five-time Ballon D’or winner told the Juventus hierarchy that it was time for him to leave the Italian club. Luis Nanihas been impressed with the humility shown by Dike despite his rapid rise to the top of MLS football in the colours of Orlando City. Ex-Lazio, Valencia and Manchester United attacker Nani was quick to point out that a lot of young footballers fail to stay grounded when they find fame and fans start shouting theirname. Nanirevealed during the aforementioned interview that Dike has not been swallowed by fame just like what’s obtainable with a lot of young players in this day and age. According to him, American international Dike listens to all the players and the coaches at Orlando City before adding that the product of his humility is the lasting result for all to see on the pitch. Former Manchester United and Portugal winger Luis Nani has backed the players representing his country at the 2020 Euros competition to emerge winners of the title, citing that they have what it takes and that they only need to believe in themselves. Nani was a part of the Portugal squad that won the 2016 edition of the competition and he has said that it is not impossible to win the trophy again. Portugal’s Euros 2016 win means that they are the current holders of the title and after already qualifying for the last-16 of this year’s edition, they now have the chance to win the title back-to-back.

Speaking ahead of the country’s last-16 tie, Nani was giving his assessment of the current squad, stating that the team is already filled with a lot of talented set of players and that they are lucky to have the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo in the team. Nani mentioned the likes of Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix, Lille midfielder Renato Sanches, and of course, Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo as some of the country’s best players who have what it takes to lead the team to victory.
