YOUNGSTERS CAN BE GREAT

Portuguese winger Nani has said that Manchester United youngsters Wilfried Zaha and Adnan Januzaj have the capability to go on and achieve greater things in football.

He also thinks that they will be capable of being stars at Old Trafford not in the too distant future. Nani himself came with a reputation for being the next Cristiano Ronaldo, but he has largely not fulfilled such ambitions in the last few years. He came close to leaving the club in the summer, but he has now signed a new contract with the Red Devils.

During his six year spell at the club, Nani has so far scored 40 goals in 222 matches. It is expected that he will be replaced in the next few years by the likes of Zaha and Januzaj. Januzaj is a youth team product, who has become the latest sensation. He is expected to be the future of Manchester United given that he is only 18 years old. Zaha was signed from Crystal Palace of £ 15 million.

Even though he has found little first-team opportunities under David Moyes, he is expected to improve and become a first-team regular at United – though there were rumours he would be heading to the Emirates until Arsenal signed Ozil.

“They are both great players and have showed great character. They both have good personalities as well. They have been given a chance to play in the first team and have impressed because they have lots of quality. It is normal for a young player to show good things when they have the right personality and mentality,” said Nani to Manchester United’s official website.

According to Nani, both these players have what it takes to become United greats. Nani was in disappointing form last season, but his form has sufficiently improved in order for the Portuguese midfielder to earn himself a new contract amidst interest from Juventus.
