NANI FUTURE UNSURE

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Portuguese winger Nani. The winger has been widely expected to leave Manchester United in the summer, but a transfer is yet to materialise.

This is due to several reasons with the first being the transfer fee demanded by United. The former Sporting Lisbon player has only one year left on his contract, but it is thought that United are demanding in excess of £ 10 million for the player. He was heavily linked with a move to Juventus, which fell off due to a £ 25 million transfer fee demanded by United.

After a lot of speculation, it looks like he will be staying at Old Trafford at least for the season. This is because the player himself has said that he wants to stay at United and fight for a first-team spot. He has also expressed his desire to sign a new contract as well. It is believed that one of main reasons for Nani wanting to leave Old Trafford was manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Now that he has gone, the Portuguese winger wants to stay and fight for a place. He has been at the club since 2007. During this period, he has made more than 200 appearances for the club.

“I hope to win the league again and, for my personal wishes, I want to be at my best and score a lot of goals. Like I said, I just need to be at my best and then everything will come together,” said Nani. He has scored 39 goals for United. Last season was one of the toughest since he came to the club because he made only 21 appearances in all competitions. Even though he missed the pre-season due to an injury, he is looking to get back fit and ready.
